Bios:

Erik Holvig is an Apple Distinguished Educator who spent nearly a decade on Apple’s National Professional Learning Team. During that time, he supported schools and universities across the United States in technology integration, curriculum design, and professional learning for district leaders, principals, teachers, and students. His passion lies in making learning more accessible, creative, and engaging for all learners.

Before joining Apple, Erik taught in two of the top public school districts in the country — Bronxville Schools and Scarsdale Schools in New York — where he taught technology, coding and created a Makerspace at his school in Scarsdale.

Erik holds a Master’s in Education Media Design from Full Sail University in Florida and a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education from Bethel University in Minnesota. He became an Apple Distinguished Educator in 2015 and has been a Google for Education Certified Teacher since 2010.

Outside the classroom, Erik brings the same curiosity and creativity to everything he does. A former professional ice hockey player in Germany, he’s now an avid golfer and fly fisherman, and enjoys playing piano and guitar.

Erik’s wife Danielle is the co-founder of Peak Cognition, has a bachelor’s degree in Speech Communication from The Pennsylvania State University and together they’re raising two children who share their love of learning and adventure.

Charleston is a five year old Chocolate Labrador Retriever who likes long walks through the forest and chasing sticks in the yard.
